Minnesota ARES operates under a structured 7-district framework designed to align seamlessly with Minnesota VOAD and state emergency management sectors: Northwest, Northeast, Central, Metro, Southwest, South Central, and Southeast Districts.
District Emergency Coordinators (DECs) and County Emergency Coordinators (ECs) manage local VHF/UHF repeater networks and HF emergency nets to maintain constant readiness.
When severe weather or regional power outages strike, district nets coordinate resource allocation and relay health and welfare traffic directly to Minnesota State Emergency Operations Center liaisons.
